Technical agreement tax treaty between Curaçao & Suriname

In April, Suriname and Curaçao reached a technical agreement on the text of the tax treaty to prevent double taxation between Curaçao and Suriname.

The tax treaty lays the foundation for improved cooperation in fiscal matters between Suriname and Curaçao, aiming to reduce double taxation and eliminate significant fiscal-economic barriers. This will stimulate economic activity in and between both countries and could be of interest to organizations wishing to do business in Suriname or Curaçao.

The initialing of the tax treaty is the first step in the process that will lead to its signing and ratification by both countries, after which it will come into effect.
