We are looking for a Finance Assistant with an administrative or financial background combines administration expertise with a strong understanding of financial and tax principles.
The Finance Assistant is responsible for supporting the tax department with the preparation, organization, and maintenance of tax records and providing administrative assistance. The role involves applying legal knowledge to ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations and coordinating with both internal teams and external agencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax processes, administrative skills and basic knowledge of legal principles related to taxation.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Compliance and Reporting
- Assist with the preparation and filing of tax returns
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
- Monitor deadlines and maintain accurate records
- Assist with inquiries from authorities, providing necessary documentation and responses
- Administrative Support
- Maintain tax-related documentation
- Organize and manage the department’s calendar, ensuring timely filings and meeting compliance deadlines
- Draft and prepare legal correspondence, reports, and other tax-related documents
Qualifications
- Education
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Taxation, Business Administration, or a related field
- Skills & Competencies
- Excellent organizational and administrative skills with attention to detail
- Ability to interpret and apply tax regulations to real-world situations
- Pro-active and team-player
